These are High Intensity Discharge lights. Do not attempt to operate with any mismatched bulb. 400 Watt Metal Halide bulbs require a 400 Watt Metal Halide Ballast; 1000 Watt High Pressure Sodium Bulbs require a 1000 Watt High Pressure Sodium Ballast. Do not attempt to to operate any type of mismatch--either in Wattage or type of bulb (MH or HPS). There is High Voltage inside the socket. Do not fool around with this. Keep children away from HID lights and vice versa. If you have any questions about safety, please do not hesitate to e-mail or call 3R Lighting.
